J: This story was very much in the style of Danielle Steel's romance novels, not the romantic suspense of my taste. The writing was fine, I loved the characters; their relationship was truly believable. But there was almost no action or suspense, and the ending was rather uneventful. I also don't like continuing stories with no level of completion between books. I purchased book 1, then book 2, but could not find book 3 until I ran across it in a 4 book collection which included the first two books (although it was only $.99). This story truly didn't even need to be three books.Product details

I loved the suspense. I thought the ending was great. Would have liked to read about their return transition. It was a great book regardless.
Sometimes when you get several books only the first one is good. I enjoyed all of these..

Great books! Will want to keep your device charged, it's a page turner! Author writes in a way that makes it easy to not put down! Beautifully written! Would suggest to my friends as a must read!
Super good book or books i should say. KB Winters is a great author, all through these books i was hooked on every page. The adventures that Melissa, Jackson, and Chase have are like a rollercoaster ride up and down.
Slow Burn with characters Nick and Carly is slow and I struggled to finish it. On The Run is a great love story. It brings the character Henry O'Keefe back. This time from his wife's perspective. Chase takes Carly and her son, Jackson, on the run from Henry's criminal activities. The second story deserves 5 stars.
Slow Burn picks up the storyline six months after Player ends. Carly Roberts, owner of The Siren coffee shop, has gotten word her seventeen year old sister, Alesha, will be spending the summer with her again while their parents are in Greece. The prior summer didn't go well and Carly is afraid this summer will be no different. Nick Adams is a former Marine who has taken a job as a mechanic at the Rosen Air Museum for Aaron "Player" Rosen. After stopping in at The Siren for coffee and pastries, he's hooked.
On the Run is another follow-up to Player, but overlaps its timeline. Melissa O'Keefe is in the process of filing for divorce from her abusive husband, Henry, when she overhears his end of a phone call where he talks about having her killed. Her attorney helps her make arrangements to go into hiding with her five-year-old son, Jackson, and for his brother Chase, a former SEAL, to provide protection for them.
This is an entertaining set and I enjoyed the follow-up to Player in On the Run.

Carly has a difficult time trusting men after her experiences. She went extreme and trusted no one. Nick wants to start a future and did not expect to fall for Carly as soon as he gets in town. He is now worried about staying past the three months on his contract. He also knows Carly is having problems trusting anyone, but how much pulling away can he handle if she really wants a future with him.

Chase is looking for a future to settle in to, with a family and loving wife. He is not living a life conducive to finding someone to hold his heart. This latest job will be difficult. Melissa is in a very risky situation, even before filling for divorce and overhearing her husband telling someone to kill her. He has never mixed business with pleasure and does everything he can to harden his heart against the strong Melissa. She gets passed his defenses and they both admit to being attracted to one another. They must both decide what to do about their relationship together. And don't forget the men tracking Melissa to kill her and her husband manufacturing lies about her to prove her unfit.
